How can i change the default ttl to 2 hours
I have tried to reduce the ttl for individual forward zones to 2 hours through soa tab, both minimum (default ttl and ttl for this record, but getting reset to default overnight. The period of time the dns server will keep information in its cache is determined by the time to live (ttl) value for a resource record Until the ttl period expires, information in the cache might be overwritten if updated information about that resource record is received. It works now with my configuration, i had to edit the ttl for the cname record
After setting it to 1 minute my tests ran successfully means after shutting down pslocal to simulate a server outtage and changing the cname record pointing to pscentral the client's printer connection is available within a minute. We started having an issue recently were users active directory mapped home folders would start to path to their local drive unless the mapping was changed to be the file servers fqdn, this does not happen with other mappings to the file server.
